Wagholi: The fourth anniversary celebration of Bhumi Foundation, Maharashtra State Social Organization, was held in Pune. The programme was graced by renowned Marathi film actress Alka Kubal and was organized with the main concept of social worker Kailas Pawar. The foundation was established on 2 October, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, with public participation, under the motto of comprehensive development of society.
With the participation of numerous service-minded people, Bhumi Foundation has been continuously carrying out notable work in various fields, including education, social welfare, rural development, support for widowed and destitute women, support for orphan and destitute children, and free residential facilities for daughters of farmers affected by suicide, among other activities.
The organization has been consistently carrying out such work, which is certainly commendable, stated Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Dr. Parag Kalkar, while speaking on the occasion.
Along with him, Ranka Jewellers Director and Saraf Association President Fatechand Ranka also said that if honesty is maintained in any business or work and it is carried out consistently, success is certainly achieved.
Similarly, Silver Group Director Santosh Bhak Barane also stated that social service is truly needed in the present circumstances and that everyone should contribute wholeheartedly to social work. He assured that the Silver Group would make a significant contribution towards this cause.
Pradeep Bapat, from ESRM, also said that service to the country and service to society are both important. He said that everyone needs to work with a selfless attitude for society. On this occasion, Ranka was honored with a special recognition for his notable contribution in the social field and for his lifelong service. Similarly, Santoshbhau Barane was also honored with a state-level social gem award by Savitribai Phule Pune University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalkar.
During the programme, a cultural programme was organized for the students of Bhumi Foundation’s residential project. The programme was conducted in the presence of Silver Group Chairman Santosh Bhak Barane, with the students participating enthusiastically.
On this occasion, Yavatmal’s daughter Manikrao Shivankar, Pune Revenue Department’s Satyawan Langde, as well as Vaishakiya field Dr. Raghunath Ramkar and educational field Dr. Vilas Deshmukh, Principal of the Indian Jain Sanghatana College, Nashik, and others were present. The students of Career Academy also received guidance from trainer Abhishek Dube.
The students of the residential facility were felicitated with certificates and awards in the presence of the dignitaries. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalkar presented the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalkar Award.
The programme was conducted by Professor Santosh Deshmukh, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Ashwini Pawar.
